Terms & Conditions
Handmade on Vancouver Island with care. Here’s everything you need to know about shipping, returns, caring for your pieces, and more.
Shipping
All orders are packed and shipped by hand from my small studio on Vancouver Island. I typically ship once a week, so please allow a few days for your order to be processed before it’s on its way.
Shipping Times
• Canada & U.S.: 5–10 business days
• International: 7–15 business days
These are estimates—sometimes things move faster, sometimes slower (especially around holidays or during heavy order weeks). If your order is urgent or you’d like tracked shipping, just let me know at checkout or reach out after ordering.
Customs & Duties
International orders (including to the U.S.) may be subject to customs fees or import duties. These are out of my control and are the responsibility of the buyer. I ship all items DDU (Delivery Duty Unpaid).
Missing or Damaged Orders
If your package doesn’t arrive, or arrives damaged, please reach out within 7 days of delivery (or 14 days from the shipping date if it hasn’t arrived). I’ll always do my best to make it right.
If the shipping address provided was incorrect and the parcel is lost or returned, I unfortunately can’t offer a refund—so please double-check your details before completing your order.
Returns & Refunds
Because each piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind, all sales are final.
That said, if something arrives broken or you receive the wrong item, please email me with a photo and your order number. I’ll either send a replacement (if available) or issue a refund.
Used or damaged pots (after arrival) are not eligible for return. Thanks for understanding that these aren’t mass-produced items—they’re functional art, and they deserve gentle care.
Pottery Care
Fog & Fire ceramics are made to be used and loved, but they do require a little extra mindfulness compared to factory-made ware.
General Use
• All pieces are high-fired stoneware and food-safe.
• Crackle glazes may develop character (staining) over time. This is natural.
• Some glazes may be more prone to minor surface wear or chipping with rough use—especially around rims.
Best Practices
• Hand washing is recommended. While most pieces can handle a dishwasher, hand washing is gentler and helps preserve the life of your pot.
• Avoid leaving liquids in crackle-glazed vessels overnight.
• Microwaves are generally okay, but prolonged exposure can increase crazing or heat unevenly—use with care.
Each piece is unique. Slight variations in size, shape, and glaze are part of what makes handmade pottery special.
Shop Updates
My online shop is restocked in batches—sometimes seasonally, sometimes spontaneously. The best way to stay in the loop is to sign up for my email list or follow along on Instagram.
While most pieces are released during shop updates, I occasionally add one-off or limited items in between. These tend to go quickly, so keep an eye out if you’re after something specific.
